This update resolves the following error that can occur when Windows Embedded Developer Update (WEDU) client is launched:

"There was an error communicating with the server please try again later…"

Install Instructions:

The executable automatically starts the Update Tool to update the Embedded Toolkit.  

Here are the steps to install the toolkit update without modifying existing user settings:

  1. Launch WindowsEmbedded8Standard-November_2015_Toolkit_Update.msp
  2. Select ‘Next’ button
  3. Select ‘Repair’ and click ‘Next’ button
  4. Select ‘Repair’ button
  5. Select ‘Finish’ button after it finishes the installation
  Notes:  

  1. Toolkit updates must be installed in the order they were released, so the November 2015 update must be installed after the previous updates in the following order:

    2. Mar 2014 (Link=https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/securedownloads/hh442898#FileId=58338)
    3. Nov 2015
  2. If user selects ‘Modify’ instead of ‘Repair’ in step 3, both x86 and amd64 for IBW are checked by default.
